Crowing of the rooster, braying of the donkey and barking of the dog

Supplication when hearing the crow of the rooster

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ فَضْلِكَ

Allaahumma innee as’aluka min faḍlik

O Allah, I ask You from Your favor

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, “If you hear the crow of a rooster, ask Allah for his bounty for it has seen an angel.”

(Sahih al-Bukhari 3303)

Supplication when hearing the bray of the donkey

أَعُوذُ بِاللهِ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ الرَّجِيمِ

A‛oodhu billaahi minash-shayṭaanir-rajeem

I seek refuge with Allah from Satan, the outcast.

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, “If you hear the braying of a donkey, seek refuge in Allah for it has seen a devil.”

(Sahih al-Bukhari 3303)

Supplication when hearing the bark of the dog at night

أَعُوذُ بِاللهِ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ الرَّجِيمِ

A‛oodhu billaahi minash-shayṭaanir-rajeem

I seek refuge with Allah from Satan, the outcast.

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, “If you hear the barking of dogs or the braying of donkeys at night, seek refuge in Allah for they see what you do not.”
