Repelling the shaitan

Allah (ﷻ) says:

And say: "My Lord! I seek refuge with You from the whisperings (suggestions) of the Shayâtin (devils). (97) "And I seek refuge with You, My Lord! Lest they (should come near) me." (98)

(Surah Al Mu’minoon 97-98)

Supplication for repelling the shaitan #1

A‛oodhu billaahis-samee‛-il-‛aleemi minash-shayṭaan-ir-rajeem, min hamzihi, wa nafkhihi, wanafthih

I seek refuge with Allah, the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing, from the accursed Satan, from his spurs, puffs and blowing

(Sahih Al Kailm At Tayyib 130)

As Allah (ﷻ) says:

And if an evil whisper from Shaitân (Satan) tries to turn you away (from doing good), then seek refuge in Allâh. Verily, He is the All-Hearer, the All-Knower

(Surah Fussilat 36)

Expelling the shaitan during the prayer

Say:

A‛oodhu billaahi minash-shayṭaanir-rajeem

I seek refuge in Allah from Satan the outcast

  • And spit on your left three times.

Uthman b. Abu al-'As reported that he came to Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) and said:

Allah's Messenger (ﷺ), the Satan intervenes between me and my prayer and my reciting of the Qur'an and he confounds me. Thereupon Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said:, That is (the doing of a) Satan (devil) who is known as Khinzab, and when you perceive its effect, seek refuge with Allah from it and spit three times to your left. I did that and Allah dispelled that from me.

(Sahih Muslim Book 39, Hadith 92)

Expelling doubts and wiswas

Say:

Huwal-awwalu, wal-aakhiru, wadhaahiru, wal-baaṭinu, wa huwa bi kulli shay’in ‛aleem

He is The First and The Last, The Evident and The Hidden, and He has full knowledge of all things

Abu Zumayl said: I asked Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased wit him), saying: What is that I find in my breast? He asked: What is it? I replied: I swear by Allah, I cannot speak about it. He asked me: Is it something doubtful? He then said: If you find something in your heart, say: He is The First and The Last, The Evident and The Hidden, and He has full knowledge of all things.
